Our Story
Nazlı and Nick met on September 13, 2019 through mutual friends at Georgia Tech, when they were set up on a blind date for a sorority event. At the time, neither of them knew that the date would later become one of the most meaningful days of their lives — the very same day they would choose for their wedding, seven years later.
Looking back, it feels like a million small coincidences had to align for them to meet that night: different paths, different choices, and a series of moments that quietly led them to the same place.
The two spent the night talking and quickly realized how natural it felt to be around each other. From the very beginning, they made each other feel at ease, seen, and completely themselves.
Over the months that followed, they kept finding their way back into each other’s orbit, through time with friends, beach trips, and long conversations about music, sports, and films, discovering just how much they had in common. What began as a chance introduction slowly unfolded into something deeper. As their friendship grew, Nazlı was the first to open up about her feelings, and not long after on November 16, 2019, Nick asked Nazlı to be his girlfriend.
Since then, they have grown up side by side. They graduated together from Georgia Tech, moved to Boston, started living together, and began navigating new careers while sharing everything from small everyday moments to big adventures. Their lives soon filled with the things they both love most: ski trips, playing guitar and piano, cooking together, traveling, tennis, rock climbing, and always encouraging each other to try something new. Along the way, they also adopted their cat Mocha, who quickly found his place in their life together.
In November 2025, during a weekend trip to Cape Ann, Nick suggested a picnic at Singing Beach despite the chilly autumn weather — a place he chose intentionally, knowing how much being by the water has always meant to Nazlı, who grew up near the sea and finds her greatest sense of peace there. As the sun began to set, he asked if he could take a photo of her, something they often did on trips together. When she turned back around, he was down on one knee. In that quiet golden-hour moment by the ocean, she tearfully said yes.
Now, they cannot wait to celebrate with the people they love most as they begin the next chapter of their story.
